"Tom please, stop it!" Chloe shrieked as the dread locked boy tickled her to shreds. He was enjoying troubling her, watching her turn red as she tried to escape him.

"I won't until you stop calling me octopus!"

"I don't call you that, Pav does! Go and tickle her."

"She doesn't get tickled." He whined giving Pav an evil playful look. She grinned back cheekily, brushing a strand of hair away from in front of her face.

"Yes I know your hair is amazingly soft and beautiful…but END with your obsession already!" Bill, Tom's identical twin spoke.

"Oh and it comes from a boy who gets up at four in the morning so tat he could get dressed in time for school at eight!"

"You forgot…he also stares at himself in the mirror and stands like a model protruding his butt out and then says 'perfect'." Tom teased.

"Shut up Tomi!" Bill said in uproar. "I don't do that!"

"You do to"

"Don't "

"Do to"

Pav and Chloe exploded into ruckus laughter after that blame game calling for a group hug. The four best friends huddled together into a tight embrace. The twin's mother poked her head inside at that moment

"Would you girls like o stay for dinner?" she asked

"Mum they are sleeping over." Tom replied

"Oh sorry honey, it slipped out of my mind. So should I send the food up?"

"You could…pplleeeaaaaassssseeeeee" Bill wailed causing him mother to raise an eyebrow at him.

"Ignore him." Chloe joked around receiving a slap on her shoulder. "Thanks Simone."

"Ugh I can't believe school starts tomorrow. It's so boring, studying and shit. I prefer this setting much better, being with you guys all day long. I doubt mum even remembers what I look like." Pav said dragging the bean bag in front of the computer table and making her comfortable on it.

"Well at least we'll have new kids this semester. I was getting so bored of seeing the same old faces." Tom added.

"I'm dying for some eye candy. I feel so deprived at times that it's not even funny!" Pav continued to rant.

Tom shrugged "It's not my fault you choose to overlook the fact that I radiate sex."

"The point being that sex is not the ONLY thing I am looking for!"

"Shit, it sucks to have a hot best friend like you."

Pav rolled her eyes and yet again burst into fits off laughter. It was impossible for the four to keep straight faces when they were together. Someone or the other was always cracking a joke or doing something foolish enough to send them all into a hysterical spree.

They stayed awake till late after dinner playing, staying on the internet, irritating each other and basically and most importantly having fun. They were so tired by the time they slept that none of them woke up in time for school. In the morning Simone banged on their door, yelling her lungs out.

"Get up all of you, do you even realize how late you are for school!"

"What time is it mum?" Bill asked yawning like an ape.

"7:30…get up!"

As soon the words 7:30 reached to them, they got up wit a start realizing just how late they were.

"Lollipop would screw us if we reach late on the first day!" Tom exclaimed, running to the other room to change. He stopped in his tracks realizing the perverse nature of his sentence.

"Oopsie…I meant Principal Helmholtz."

"Yeah…I think we got that dread – O." Pav taunted, Dread O meaning dread octopus…the nickname Tom HATED.

"You're lucky we're running late for school Pav."

She poked her tongue out playfully, ducking behind Bill to avoid the pillow he had thrown at her.

"Stop messing around already! We're late!" Chloe yelled making them stop.

Somehow they reached school right before the bell rang, after which Chloe parted ways with them. Her first class on Monday was elective English while the rest had history.

"Remind me why I took this dull subject." Bill whined sitting on their usual seats at the back.

"Because you didn't have the brains to take something more interesting!" Tom snubbed happily.

Their forthcoming argument died even before it could start as the teacher entered the class greeting them cheerfully.

"Good morning miss Gunnar." They replied, singing miserably like kindergarten children.

It was evident that none of them was least interested in a history class on Hitler at 8 am in the morning. Even Pav dreaded it, who was by far the only student who could resist the soporiphic powers of the teacher.

"Wake me up when this shit gets over." Tom whispered to Pav, who was sitting in front of him. She looked at Bill who was sitting diagonally towards her left; his head already on the table, ready to fall asleep. However it shot up like a bullet when Miss Gunnar mentioned new students.

"We have a new boy ad I want you to greet him as warmly as you an." She went out to get him inside the class.

Tom kicked her chair indicatively since he knew what was going on in her mind. She glanced back at Tom and then at Bill, giving them both a broad grin. She didn't keep her hopes too high up though, because usually the exact opposite of what she wanted used to happen. However her heart skipped a beat when a black haired boy, wearing a red and black skulled hoodie with black jeans walked in. he was too gorgeous to put in words, had wonderful blue eyes one would want to lose themselves in and lips to die for…accessorized wit a lip ring.

"Started breathing yet?" Tom asked discreetly.

Smiling to herself she nodded, paying full attention as the new kid started speaking.

"Hi my name is Strify. It's not my real name, but I would prefer if you called me by this name and not investigate any further. Besides this I like to listen to music." He spoke in a very high but soft voice.

Pav couldn't get her eyes off him, because he was so strikingly attractive. Only when he sat down did she turn her attention elsewhere. The class was boring as always, and she could hardly focus on what the teacher was saying. Strify was too distracting for her, eve though she could just see his profile. She was forced back into reality when Bill started talking to her.

"The class is over Pav."

She immediately busied herself with gathering all her things during which time the teacher spoke again.

"Okay boys and girls, I want one volunteer to help Strify out wit the previous semester's work."

As soon as she said that all the girls shot up their hands in the air for very obvious reasons. Pav hadn't paid any attention to what had been said, but Tom being the bastard that he was took her hand and raised it for her. The poor girl didn't realize what was happening till the teacher singled her out.

"Pav, how nice of you to volunteer."

"Y-yes Ms. Gunnar. "She stuttered trying to understand the situation, along with avoiding looking at the boy. She was scared she would keep on staring at him.

"Now I want you to help him out with everything we did last semester alright."

She nodded and as soon as the teacher was out yelled at Tom. "You dumbfuck why did you – "but she stopped midway when Strify himself came to her.

"I hope I'm not causing you any trouble."

"Oh no, not at all, just give me a few days, I need to sort all the things out before giving them to you."

He smiled and asked her "What's your name?"

"Oh sorry, I didn't tell you. I'm Pav…and these two are my lunatic friends Bill and Tom."

Strify started saying something, but Bill interrupted him without listening "Save it, we are twins."

"I wasn't going to say that, I can see you are twins. I just wanted to thank you for agreeing to help me out."

Pav bit her tongue to stop herself from laughing as Bill turned red.

"We'll be late for class!" Tom suddenly squealed. "And is that Chlo jumping outside like a loon!"

Pav said bye to Strify and went out to meet their friend. She was overly excited and jumpy about something and she dropped a bombshell on them when they asked her what was up.

"Sam – just – asked – me – OUT!"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!" Pav yelled, getting excited as well. After 6 months of crushing over that guy she was going on a date with him. "Whoa Chloe…I am so happy for you!"

Everyone could see how ecstatic and pleased she was, but amidst the happiness they failed to realize that a few things had gone horribly wrong.

after all the trouble you had posting this, leaving a comment is really a big thing. I thought this would never come up!!! But I have to say I adore it!!! and not just cos I'm in it, though that makes it even better! i love your writing as usual hun, it was perfect!!! looking forward to more!!

"Oh finally you found future boyfriend material Pav!" Chloe laughed after Bill had filled her in with all the details.

"Exaggerating bitch!" Pav squeaked, "I just said he's good looking."

"Really now Pav, it didn't seem so by the way you were staring at him!" Tom said, teasing her further. "And by the way you think Sam is good looking as well, you never stare at him like that."

She shrunk her nose in irritation and poked her tongue out at them. "Fine I think he's very hot, happy?"

"Very happy." Bill danced around in the corridor.

"And just for the record, he is not future boyfriend material yet."

"And yet equals a month, maximum."

"Shut up Billa."

Chloe intervened asking them about their class after maths.

"Ethics…ugh, I hate ethics."

They made their way over into the class, where Bill gossiped with Chloe, "There he is." He told her, pointing at Strify.

"You make me proud, he's definitely hot."

"Stop acting as if I'm crushing on him because I am not!" she knew they would not stop the topic until they got bored of it, so she attempted to change it herself. "So Chlo, when is Sam taking you out on a date?"

"Saturday night movie date." She giggled, "He was so nervous while saying that, it was almost adorable!"

Pav and Tom giggled along. Whoever thought Tom was a Gangsta dude, only interested in women and sex. He was a major gossiper, sometimes even worse than the girls were.

Suddenly Bill started whining "But Chlo you promised to be my partner for my next dance lesson!"

"Oh shit! I'm so sorry Bill, I completely forgot about that!" she apologized

"Its okay buddy, I'll come with you." Pav said coming to their rescue. He tried to conceal his disappointment and shrugged. He could not hide it from his twin.

Just before the teacher entered the class, Strify looked at them, and passed a smile, specially directed towards Pav. Shyly she smiled back, feeling her heart flutter for no reason. Alternatively, what she thought was not a reason. Chloe nudged her discreetly "Introduce me to him".

"What do you want me to say? 'Hey Strify this is my friend Chloe, just thought you should know'?"

"No silly, I want you to go to him and say 'Hey Strify, I think you're very hot. Wanna fuck?'"

"Get you head out of the gutter Chloe." She replied, "Tell me why are you so interested in hooking me up with a guy I don't even know?"

"Because my dear Angel" Tom began "You really need a guy. A pretty girl like you shouldn't be single and still a virgin at the age of 17."

"Thank you Tom, but I don't need that advice from a sex maniac."

"All the more reason for me to tell you how important sex is! Your brain will die, if you don't satisfy your needs and desires!"

"Shut up." She retorted, ending the conversation.

After ethics and a couple other boring classes, they went first to heir own homes and then re grouped at Chloe's place two hours later. Instead of ransacking her house, they decide to go to the pub and very obviously get drunk.

They did not have to wait outside at all, since there was hardly anyone there at 8 p.m.

The fluorescent lights illuminated the place, giving it a very different feel.

"Excuse me while I attend to my admirers." Tom said and walked off in the directions of two girls who were actually checking him out.

"He just needs to see scantily dressed women to get his hormones kicking doesn't he?" Pav said lightly.

"It took you so long to realize that?" Bill commented. "Poor observation Pav."

She gave him a weird look and then headed off to the dance floor with Chloe, grooving to the best alternative rock songs. Hip-hop, r 'n' b, and pop never played in that place. So very obviously, it was not the most happening pub in town, but it was very famous amongst those who chose to act differently. Pav, Chloe, and Bill were known for their ways in the school. Bill usually roamed around with his long hair turned into spikes, bold black make up and tongue piercing. Chloe had challenged him to do it, after she had done it herself. Pav had her hair streaked in a different color each month. Sometimes it was purple, sometimes turquoise, and maybe even red if she felt like it. She too had her lip, ears, and one eyebrow pierced. They roamed about usually in black and displayed extremities of skull and vampire obsession, which was not the most common thing around the area, which also made them outcasts. The only so called 'normal' person was Tom, but he hardly wandered away to the other gangsters, because he liked hanging around with his twin and the two girls.

While dancing Chloe noticed something. "Isn't that Strify with Bill?"

"Yeah – "

Chloe pulled her off the dance floor and towards the two guys."

"Halo! Did you get bored?" Bill asked

"Yeah, I want to save some energy for later." Chloe replied.

"Oh, you guys haven't met right?" he continued, and then turned to Strify. "Strify, this is Chloe, the fourth installment to our insanity."

"Hi." Strify said with a wide smile on his face. "You look gorgeous in this dress."

"Thanks, nice to meet you Strify. Could you excuse me for a minute?"

She turned to her left and whispered in Pav's ear. "You're lucky Sam asked me out already." In response Pav, gulped the whole vodka shot down her throat and shivered. "Gah! My throat just got burnt!"

"Who asked you to gulp your drink down?"

"Wassup people", Tom joined in.

"Why playboy, didn't catch any fish in your net tonight?"

"Believe it or not, I'm not in the mood today." He replied.

"Ah, so no one's interested in you basically." Pav said as a matter of factly making the rest laugh.

While Chloe and Bill screamed as their favorite song played and ran to the dance floor again, Tom found another girl to try his luck, leaving Strify and Pav to chat alone.

"So do you like it here?"

"Well, I'm getting used to it. I miss my friends in Berlin, but coming here as it's own benefits."

"Like?"

"Meeting you for starters." He flirted fearlessly. Usually, she black listed those who tried to flirt with her, but surprisingly she did not mind it coming from him. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Nope." Suddenly she changed track "What happened to them?" she wondered simultaneously as her friends came out with droopy faces.

"What happened?"

"Mum just happened. She has ordered us all to get our asses back o the house and your mum is there waiting for you as well."

"Great just what we needed!" Pav whined

"I know, I was just beginning to have some fun!" Chloe agreed. "Sorry Strify, as much as we would love to stay we have to leave."

"Oh no problem guys, I'll see you tomorrow in school then." He replied and got up as well. Chloe gave him a friendly hug. "Bye."

Pav tried to avoid touching him, even if it was just a hug, but well, Chloe, nudged her to do it. it was a very brief hug and two kisses on her cheeks, not like she was new to it, not like she had never kissed a guy on his cheek before(for heaven's sake she gave a kiss to the twins a thousand times in one day) but with Strify, it was just so different. She felt awkward, not that she showed it, but her feelings were very unexplainable. She did not want to prove Bill right,

"No, Strify is NOT boyfriend material." She said to herself before leaving the pub.

The whole week passed by so fast that it was unbelievable! It just seemed like yesterday that Sam had asked her on a date, and suddenly she was facing the dilemma of searching for the perfect dress to wear. She ransacked her wardrobe for the third time in a row to search for something nice. Pav, who sat there bored, commented. "Chloe, if you are so stressed about a movie date, what will you do on your wedding day? Or will I have the luxury to tell my grandchildren that my best friend was a true case of bridzilla?"

Furiously Chloe turned around and threw a pillow at her. Immediately the two jumped onto the bed and stated a pillow fight worthy of registering in the history books.

"Help me out Pav!" she yelled, as a 5-year-old yells for ice cream.

"Honestly Chlo, if you want help, call Bill or Strify. They are more in tune with fashion than I am in any case."

"Good idea" Chloe replied and jumped to dial their nos. one by one.

"Till they come, you help me."

Once again, they dug their heads inside the cupboard and pulled out all the potential dresses. Meanwhile the doorbell and Pav ran to get it.

"Oh thank god you're here already!" she sighed and hugged both the boys.

They made their way up and saw the mess inside the room.

"What have you been doing here?" Strify asked

"Searching very unsuccessfully for a nice dress to wear." Chloe replied sitting down on the couch that was the only piece of furniture not covered with her clothes.

Bill picked up a black soft denim skirt. "You're wearing this. I don't care if you like it or not." Immediately Strify pulled out a halter-top and a very loose long red cotton t-shirt.

"Oh no, you want me to layer up?"

"yes." Both of them replied.

"It's so hot outside!"

"You're not going to die Chlo! Now go and change."

"But – make up?"

"What am I here for then?" Strify said. "Come out quickly."

Within a minute, she was out, looking like a bombshell. "Wow!" Pav whistled. "You look sexy, if anything."

On the contrary, Bill disapproved. "You look like a slut."

"No she doesn't" Pav answered. "She looks nice!" Strify agreed with her, but Bill resisted.

"Try the black jeans Chlo."

"But you said you wanted me to wear the skirt."

"Now I don't want you to."

"Shut up Billa! Chloe, ignore him and his rudeness. You're looking amazing."

Strify then started with the make up. It would have appeared to be a very odd scene for an outsider, to see a boy doing a girl's make up, but well there was a reason people did not think of them to be normal. Strify was a fashion diva at times, much like Bill, and it was one of the few strange reasons why they got along so well and why Strify had become a part of their group so fast.

"How do you have so much patience with this?" Pav asked, "I get irritated with my eye pencil if I have to hold it for more than 5 minutes!"

With one last delicate stroke of black color on her eyelids, Strify stepped back and put the finishing touches to her face.

"If Sam doesn't compliment you tonight, you know what to do.", he joked. "Have fun."

Soon enough the three left and headed straight to Bill's house. "Hey, what about your dance lesson?"

"I cancelled it; I don't feel like dancing today."

"Wokay, then can we go to the diner or something? I don't want to get bored on a Saturday night."

"No, I don't feel too well; you'll have to do it without me."

"Come on Bill." Strify probed

"No seriously Strify, I never miss out on group fun, but I just don't feel too well." He replied and as soon as they entered the house, he headed straight for his own room.

Tom peeped from his room to check out the commotion, but he could only see Bill disappear behind his door.

"What's up wit Bill?" Pav asked him.

"I don't know, he's been acting weird since yesterday. I have never seen him so moody. He has not even done anything foolish. I'm worried."

"You're so mean! Anyway, wanna watch movies or something?"

"Oh JA! I was beginning to get bored." He went to his room and brought the final destination collection.

"Woopie!" she jumped since she was an absolute fan of final destination. "But can we watch final destination 3 first. I love that Goth kid. He's very hot."

"No, we'll watch the first one first." Tom replied and switched on the DVD player.

They made themselves comfortable on the couch, but abruptly Tom got up, dragged the beanbag out of his room into the front hall, and sat on it. Pav gave him a queer look, which he carefully ignored. All he wanted to do was hope that she would fall asleep on Strify.

It was already three weeks into august, the four friends, now five with the inclusion of Strify waited eagerly for September to approach. After all, 1st September was the twins’ birthday and they were already planning the details to make the party perfect.



“You know dad and mum have no problems with anything at all except for booze.”



“Huh? Then what is the point of having a party? Why not keep it in a club?” Strify asked



“because we don’t want it in a club” the twins replied.



“Eek, so are you telling me that we are going to have a squeaky clean un exciting 19th birthday bash for the two of you?” Pav asked



“Unfortunately yes.”



“Oh well, I didn’t expect any better from you anyway.”



“Hey, where’s Chloe?” Strify suddenly asked noticing her absence.



“Sam stole her away from us. He hardly ever leaves her nowadays.”



“Can we please get back to where we were?” Bill said irritably



“Oh, yeah…why not try and convince Simon collectively? I’m sure she’ll melt if we all beg.” she suggested



“We actually didn’t try that option.” Bill said thoughtfully “Tom just fought!”



It was so typical of Tom to lose patience with whatever he did. If things did not go his way, it just was not the best way to do it, until he got what he wanted. Usually fight mode was how he got most of his things.



“Okay so when they come back from Berlin, which is tomorrow, we’ll ask them.”



“Cool, but will they be there on the day of your birthday?”



“No they are leaving for Austria on 30th, so we can celebrate in peace!” Tom rejoiced, jumping like a 5 year old. It looked as if his xxl white shirt and baggy pants had minds off their own and were jumping on their own accord.



“Okay, so we should probably just think about the other stuff…like, food and the other headaches.” Strify suggested



“But where do we start? Pav mused, thinking about their long to do list.



“HOW ABOUT WE SHOP FOR AN OUTFIT FOR ME?” Bill screamed happily.



Tom gave him queer looks but gave in, because it was better if Bill had his clothes before hand, or he was highly susceptible to going berserk a day before the birthday. Obviously, THAT was not a good option.



You know Strify, we never asked you, when the hell I your birthday?” Pav asked, dialing Chloe’s number at the same time.



“Why do you want to know?”



“So that I get to know whether I’ll get to eat another cake between September and October.”



“Uhm…well…”



“What have you forgotten your birthday?”



“No, I’m just wondering how shocked you’ll be.”



“Why?”



“My birthday is exactly…” he checked his watch, “6 hours away”.



The other three yelled in unison. “YOU BETTER BE JOIKING STRIFY!”



“No, it’s true. I was born on the very unfortunate day, as in 20th august.”



“Why the fuck did you not tell us?” Tom asked plunging at him like a Doberman.



“Birthdays are over-rated, big deal.”



“Strify!” Bill wailed. “We’re celebrating okay, I don’t care.”



“And here I was thinking I was a week away from tasting chocolate cake. I’m calling mum right now to order cake, if we can get it on such short notice”



“Honestly guys forget it, my birthday is tomorrow.”



“SO? Good no, we can order my favorite chocolate cake, if not yours.” Pav replied.



“As you wish.” He replied his expression changing very suddenly. It was not serious as such, but it was intense, until the time he was looking at her.



They stayed at the twins place for a little while, after which Strify and Pav left together, as they lived close by.



“Why don’t you come home?” Pav invited him.



“Uhm, well…”



“I won’t eat you, I promise, neither will mum.”



He gave her a lovely smile that made her go weak in her knees. He was so beautiful when that smile graced his face. She never confessed it to any one, not even to Chloe, but she always had Strify on her mind, no matter what she did. In the past weeks of being with him almost 12 hours a day, she had grown to like him…as more than a friend. He was contagious, in a manner that was unexplainable. She was so lost in her thoughts; she did not catch Strify staring at her, until he shook her.



“Pav, are you okay?”



“Huh? Oh yeah, I think so.”



He gave her a devilish smile again. “You looked so cute when you did that.”



“Shit Strify, I can’t even blush you know.” She laughed it off



“Why?”



“Because I am brown…my color doesn’t allow me to blush one bit.



He gave her an amused look, watching her go inside her house. ”Honestly Pav, I think I should go back home, or else my mum would get anxious. She has to leave for Villingen tonight, so I should go back home.”



“Oh, alright then, I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye!” She said and hugged him. His face was so close to hers, more tempting than ever. If I just tip toed a little more, I could either have him forever, or lose him as a friend as well.

“Oh, that was so much fun!” Bill said, lying exhausted on Pav’s bed, the chocolate cake meant for eating, colored his face. It was Strify’s birthday they had celebrated, much against his will. He enjoyed with them nonetheless, but initially, they lured him into a trap to celebrate his own 19th birthday.

“Okay, so now what?” Chloe asked, not missing the opportunity to spend more time with her friends.

“You guys tell me.” Strify asked, licking the cake that was on his lips.

“Well, I will always favor a night in the club.” Tom replied, closing his eyes, as if he could already see scantily dressed women and other ecstasies that came with them.

“I for a change have no problem.” Pav replied.

“Oh, that’s excellent! I haven’t gone to a nice club in ages!” Chloe chirped excitedly

A question suddenly lashed in Pav’s mind, but she reserved it for a later period, when she would be alone with Chloe, at that moment all she could see was herself in the dim lit club, dancing her way to her favorite songs. “Come on, what are we waiting for?”

Hurrying out they all scrambled in the Cadillac that Tom loved to flash around and went to the club. They were lucky enough, to get inside within a time span of 15 minutes, as there was hardly anyone in there at 8 pm. The dance floor was empty, but with the arrival of the whole lot, it did not remain empty for much longer. Pav and Chloe along with Tom jumped onto the round shaped elevated floor, and started dancing crazily, while the other two watched them.

“I’ll just come.” Bill said, noticing some friend of his in the distance, leaving Strify alone, to get bored. He did too, initially, but then some one caught his attention. The same girl who had been with him the entire night, but this was a side of hers he had not seen, and it perplexed him. He watched her continuously until his eyes burned. She moved so fluidly, with the music, it was unbelievable. There had to be a reason why his heartbeat escalated so much in such little time.

“Yeah, she is something to watch when she’s dancing.” He heard someone say. It was Bill.

“Was I that obvious?”

“Oh hell yeah. If we were outside a mosquito must have entered your mouth by now.
He went red, but thankfully, the lighting was so dull, it did not show on his face.

“You wanna join them?”

“I wouldn’t mind.”
They went to the dance floor, and one of Pav’s favorite songs started to play.

She’s smiling, like heavens down on earth
The sun is shining so bright on her
And all her wishes, they finally come true
Now she is weeping, this happiness is killing her
She’ll never be in love.

Strify knew the song; he sang it with her, over all the noise.

“She’ll be right here in my arms, so in love
She’ll be right here in these arms, she can’t let go…oh no.”

She was in his arms swinging and twirling happily, not knowing how carefully he was watching her face. Her smile so beautifully settled on her face, made him smile as well.

“I didn’t know you liked HIM!” she shouted to make herself heard

“I am not a fan, but I love this song.”
She smiled and went back to dancing. He stayed close to her, holding her gently, not wanting to let go. He had only known her for a few weeks, but it felt long enough to want to be with her, as more than just a friend.

“Shouldn’t we get back?” Bill asked after 3 hours of dancing.

“What already?” Tom whined, “I haven’t even set my eyes on a hot body yet!”

“Tom…I think the girls need to go home.”

“Oh stop being our mother Bill!” Chloe snapped, in her half stoned state

“I think I should get home.” Strify interrupted, shocking the rest.

“What…why? We just about started having fun!”

“Well, I promised mum I’d be home before midnight. I don’t want her to get mad at me”

“Oh alright...but you’ll go all alone?” Pav asked

“I’m fine with that, you guys continue.”

“But I’m not fine with it Strify, I’ll come with you.”

“Look who’s the mother now.” Bill supplied sarcastically.

“Shut up billa.”

“Are you sure you want to go Strify? You could wait ten we could drop you in the car.”

“I’m fine Tom. I’ll go now.”

“And I’ll come with you.” Pav said taking the last dregs of her drink. “Let’s go.”

“Are you sure you want to come?”

“Yes Strify…move now.”

After saying their byes to everyone, the two left, feeling a bit dizzy at first when the bright streetlights hit their faces.

“Oh whoa…this hurts.” Strify whined cutely, making Pav laugh.

“God…do you know how cute you are?”

“No.”

“Well then I’ll tell you. You’re very cute.” She said and gave him a peck on his cheek.

He did not show any particular reaction, but his insides churned with her touch. They walked all the way talking nonsensical shit not realizing they had reached their street already.

“Oh damn, I’ll have to break in again.” Pav complained

“Huh?”

“I mean, mum is asleep, I’ll have to use the key. I hate walking into a dark house”, she pouted.
He could not take his eyes off her when she spoke. She did not realize how closely he was watching her.

“Has anybody ever told you that you have pretty eyes?” he said

“No.” she smiled shyly

“Well, you have really pretty eyes.”

“Thanks Strify.”

She hugged him tight before walking to her porch. “See you tomorrow. Good night.”

“Good night Pav.” He sighed. Maybe he would have to wait a little longer to get her in his arms the way he wanted.

“Ladies and gentlemen, are we ready for a trip to the mall?” Bill announced, standing at his doorstep, waiting for Tom, Pav, and Chloe to move their butts off the couch.

“Right now? Bill your birthday is 10 days away, why do you want to start off with your list so early?” Pav whined

“Oh come on Pav! Lazyyyyyyyyy that is what you are. You didn’t even have sex with Strify last night that you can be let off with the tiredness excuse.”

“Fuck off Bill!” she yelped and ran after him with a cushion in her hand.

“Hey I want that cushion back on the couch, I wont here mum’s yelling!” Tom screamed after the two, laughing at the same time.

“Jeez, who says Bill is turning 19?”

“Me.” Tom replied cheezily, “Now let’s go, before Bill loses it. I can bear sleeplessness, but now that diva’s tantrums!”

“Pff.” She shrugged “fine”.

Outside, Bill and Pav had positioned themselves around the car, ready to attack each other.

“Okay Tom and jerry, game over, get in the car.” Tom smirked. “And Pav is Tom.”

“HA!” Pav exhaled. “Thanks Tom...but I’ll be the cat.”

“You’re welcome” he laughed at Bill’s smug expression.

“Fine…meanies.”

The short trip to the mall was full of pointless chirping, not quite as sweet as a birds chirp, but it had the same annoying impact, for Tom, so much, so that he sighed in relief when he saw the mall up ahead.

“We hit Zara first thing.”

“Bill, why the hell do you want to go to a girl’s store?”

“Blah I wanted a scarf from there.

“You are incorrigible Bill.”

“Thank for the compliment Chlo.” He faked a wide smile

“No, we’ll go perfume hunting first…stop making a face Bill.” His twin snubbed at him. “I don’t wanna stink in school tomorrow”.

“Use mine you idiot!”

Tom refused to reply to that query and started walking towards the store, with a whining Bill following him. It took just one hug from Chloe to shut him up 

“MOON SPARKLE!!!!!!!” Pav yelled out of compulsion, since she was such a fan of that perfume. “Oh man, if any guy wearing this perfume asks me out I’ll jump on him.”

“Ew, desperate woman.” Tom said sarcastically knowing the answer he was about to get in response.

“Yeah, I’m desperate, and you don’t do anything at all Tom.” she retorted and went back to smelling the intoxicating fruity smell of Escada Moon Sparkle.

“Hey, is that Strify?” Bill said, and called to him over a second later.

“Oh bitch you said you were busy!” Chloe accused him.

“Wait, I was busy, but my boss let me go off early and well when I called your place no one picked up, so I came here.”

“Liar.” Pav joked

“Uhm Strify…which perfume do you use?” Tom asked casually.

“Moon sparkle.” He replied, unaware of the underlying motive of that question and as anticipated, the ones who understood the joke laughed out loud, leaving Strify to think what was so funny about his reply.

“Yeah...so Pav…help me buy a nice perfume, since your sense of smell is so amazing.”

“Tom” she said as a warning, glaring at him. If looks could kill, she would be the perfect example

He smirked at her knowingly. Finally, he had something to blackmail Pav with.

5 hours later, Pav, Strify, and Chloe were highly exhausted, but the twins refused to end with their supplies list. They had too many things on that goddamed birthday list of theirs. While Tom and Bill entered yet another showroom, to buy new perfect outfits for themselves the other three preferred standing outside, talking generally.

“Nothing in there either man.” Bill said coming out seconds later.

“God, you both are such pains. Cant you just buy something nice and be over with it?”

“SAM!” Chloe screamed unexpectedly, causing everyone to give her a stare. A plat blond guy looked back at them, smiling brilliantly.

“Hey gorgeous.” He greeted his girlfriend

“Hmmm…you still find her gorgeous even when she looks like a train wreck…wow…cant you lie.” Bill replied immediately and almost acidly. His tone gave Tom an internal shock. He had not thought Bill could talk like that and saying that was saying too much.

Sam hardly noticed anyone and while Bill was busy giving the boy irritated looks, and Pav and Tom were giving each other looks, Chloe suddenly said, “I’m going with him, you guys carry on alright”.

“Chlo! You can’t just leave like that!” Bill complained

“Sorry Bill, I promise I wont leave you tomorrow.” She replied and hugged him, then dashed off with Sam.

“I’m going home.” Bill said suddenly

“Bill!” the other three yelled

“See you later.”

“Bill!” Tom yelled after him, but he did not listen to them.

“What the hell happened to him?” Pav said.

“Trust me I wish I knew.”
